Upon arrival on the Accra coast, the Ga gradually organized themselves into six independent towns:
- Accra (Ga Mashie)
- Osu
- La (Labadi)
- Teshie (Teshi)
- Nungua
- Tema
Each town had its own traditional stool (throne), which served as the central symbol of authority, ritual, and “war magic” in Ga political and spiritual life.
Over time, Accra (Ga Mashie) grew into the most prominent Ga‑Dangme settlement and eventually became the capital city of Ghana, first under colonial rule and later as the national capital of the independent state
