A key figure in early Ga history is King Ayi Kushi (also rendered as Ayi Kushia or Cush), who is credited with leading the Ga during one of their major migrations into the Accra plains in the late 15th century (around 1483–1519).
Oral history holds that Ayi Kushi passed down seven puritanical laws that shaped core aspects of Ga social and moral life, including honesty, respect for authority, and community discipline. These laws continue to influence Ga philosophy and customary values even into modern times.
